Federal Statutory Holidays
These apply across Canada (though not all employers must provide time off for all of them):
- New Year's Day — January 1
- Good Friday — Varies (March/April)
- Victoria Day — Monday before May 25
- Canada Day — July 1
- Labour Day — First Monday in September
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — September 30
- Thanksgiving — Second Monday in October
- Remembrance Day — November 11
- Christmas Day — December 25

Provincial Variations
Family Day (Third Monday in February)
Observed in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and New Brunswick. Manitoba has Louis Riel Day. PEI has Islander Day. Nova Scotia has Heritage Day. Quebec and Newfoundland don't observe it at all.
Civic Holiday (First Monday in August)
Not a statutory holiday in most provinces, but many employers give it off. Called different things: BC Day, Saskatchewan Day, Heritage Day (Alberta), Civic Holiday (Ontario).
Quebec Exceptions
Quebec observes Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day (June 24) instead of Victoria Day. Easter Monday is a holiday in Quebec but not federally.
